Let's Build a Zoo

I've always been a fan of tycoon games and the first two Zoo Tycoon games are my favorites of the bunch. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found a little game called Let's Build a Zoo on sale.

When you start a new game, you start with some basic buildings and a tutorial pop-up. It explains the basics of the game, such as how to build an enclosure and then lets you do whatever you want. Unfortunately, you can't do much yet, because you have almost nothing to build yet.

To unlock new buildings you need to research them. And unfortunately, collecting points for research is a slow process. I recommend that you follow the three steps below when you first start the game.

Step one is to search online for the completed research map. The game itself leaves you in the dark and the only way to figure out where to find the next building or upgrade is through trial and error.

And while I enjoy this, it's important to get some upgrades as soon as possible to keep the game fun, the most important of which is the second researcher, which increases the speed of researching immensely.

The second step is to get as many buses as possible as quickly as possible. Without buses, visitors can't come to your zoo, which means you can't make any money. So the most important thing to start with is to spend all the money you get in the beginning on buses.

Finally, make sure you don't research reducing the pregnancy time. While it sounds convenient, it ultimately changes the game from a laid-back tycoon game to a fast-paced menu diver. And there are much more fun things to research anyway.

In conclusion, if you like tycoon games, I highly recommend this game. It's fun to play, has some nice gimmicks and when you get some new buildings to build later in the game, you can make some awesome zoos with it. And it's cheap, which is also great.
